Pathway to Employment

Mg 8505

A programme of the Business Academy aims to give high-school students real-life experience in the workplace and helping pave the way for their future careers.

It has a focus on enabling good employment pathways for students completing their last year of school and is primarily designed for students who are not on a university pathway. It allows them to complete Level 3 NCEA, and keep their options open for future career options. The goal is to provide students with an opportunity to gain an understanding of what it’s like to work in a high-performing New Zealand business, and ultimately giving them greater confidence about taking their next step.

Since 2020, the programme has been flexible to a pandemic, and an economic recession. Further funding from the Tindall Foundation is targeting young people at Manurewa High School and Papakura High School to access high-value career opportunities in tech companies, including HP, or tech functions in businesses including Hynds.
